¿Quién soy?

Mi nombre es Alexis Ballesteros, soy ingeniero de sistemas y he trabajado en el área de la ciberseguridad por más de 15 años.

Cuento con algunas de las certificaciones más importantes y reconocidas del sector, las cuales puedes ver al final de este texto y validar directamente en mi perfil de LinkedIn. A lo largo de mi carrera he trabajado en distintas industrias, participando en múltiples tipos de proyectos e implementando diversos controles de ciberseguridad.

Me gustaría decirte que soy un hacker que descubre vulnerabilidades como Neo en Matrix, pero no es así. Soy una persona como tú: alguien que un día quiso ser mejor, buscar un mejor futuro y, sobre todo, entender la ciberseguridad desde la perspectiva del atacante. Por esa razón decidí certificarme en OSCP y CPTS.

La realidad es que fallé estos exámenes más de cinco veces cada uno. Esa experiencia me llevó a reflexionar y entender que podía compartir ese camino con otros, para que no cometan los mismos errores que yo cometí por inexperiencia y puedan certificarse de una forma más rápida y eficiente.

Dicho lo anterior, es la razon por la que decidí crear cybermentor, un lugar que ayuda a todas las personas tanto a quienes estan empezando este camino de certificación asi como a aquellos que ya lo intentaron todo bajo el mindset de "Try Harder" pero que aun no obtinen los resultados esperados "Try Smart".

Who am I?

My name is Alexis Ballesteros. I am a Systems Engineer and have worked in the cybersecurity field for more than 15 years.

I hold several of the most recognized and respected certifications in the industry, which you can see at the end of this page and verify directly on my LinkedIn profile. Throughout my career, I have worked across different industries, participating in a wide range of projects and implementing various cybersecurity controls.

I would like to tell you that I am a hacker who discovers vulnerabilities like Neo in The Matrix, but that is not the case. I am a person like you—someone who, one day, wanted to become better, pursue a better future, and most importantly, understand cybersecurity from the attacker’s perspective. That is why I decided to pursue the OSCP and CPTS certifications.

The reality is that I failed these exams more than five times each. That experience led me to reflect and realize that I could share this journey with others, so they don’t make the same mistakes I made due to inexperience and can achieve certification in a faster and more efficient way.

For this reason, I decided to create CyberMentor: a place designed to support both those who are just starting their certification journey and those who have already tried everything under the “Try Harder” mindset, but still haven’t achieved the results they expected. Here, we believe in Try Smart.
